Internet Marketing - Is IT Dead?

The internet has been described as the new wild west, since its
Inception entrepreneurs have been trying to use it to make money
quickly. It has brought together huge numbers of potential
consumers and marketers in a very short time. Suppliers of goods and services,
with an enticing, well crafted sales letter and an email address can
remain anonymous. This has made the internet the ideal vehicle
for abuse.

Many entrepreneurs looking to develop an honest online business
Have been burnt by sales letters promising quick riches if only they
Buy the latest business program. I must confess I have been
one of those burnt on a number of occasions by promises of quick
riches. Those sales letters are, oh so seductive, promising quick
riches if only you buy the program and follow the instructions in
the e-books or videos.

Well my friends and fellow entrepreneurs the results are in,
It is becoming common knowledge that approximately 90 percent
of all internet businesses never make a profit even businesses
founded on those high priced programs sold through those well
crafted and enticing sales letters. The end result being that
potential business owners who have been burnt once too often are
turning away in droves from the hype and promises of quick riches
to find a more lasting foundation on which to build their business.

The month of October, 2006 was the turning point, many
subscribers saw 3 to 4 emails each day advertising the launches
of new Internet Marketing products. The result was that many of
the gurus saw a record number of their list members unsubscribe.
Apparently what happened is there are so many people marketing
to the Internet marketing community that it is common to see one
Persons name on 3 or 4 mailing list. Since the owners of these
Mailing list promote the same products its not unusual for the
Mailing list subscribers to receive the same offer 3 or 4 times a day
for the latest product launch.

Couple that with the vast number
of new products launched in the month of October no wonder the
subscribers felt jaded and overwhelmed. The end result, record
numbers of requests to opt-out from the various mailing lists.
The online marketing forums were buzzing with the chatter of
dissatisfaction.

Marketers to the Internet Marketing community have seen their
Profits dropped dramatically from previous launches. The feeling of
being jaded and overwhelmed has been growing for awhile. Prior to
October, subscribers have been receiving emails daily touting one
program or another, they bought into one program after another
without the proper investment of the time and effort into anyone.

What has resulted is the, efficiency versus effectiveness syndrome.
This details of this condition are beyond the scope of this article but

The questions now remain, what is the status of the Internet
Marketing industry? and where does it go from here? The possible

Marketing on the Internet

Marketing on the Internet by David Pierce
The internet is a place where people often throw darts into the darkness hoping that someday, somehow they'll hit a bulls eye. Most people nurture a mistaken notion that huge amount of traffic can eventuate good business without paying any attention to what sort of people are coming to the website. This is the worst sort of Internet Marketing.
No matter how revolutionary your product or service is, unless it is backed by a well-thought-out Internet Marketing strategy, it is as good as being non-existent. You have got to be as sure as any of the conventional brick and mortar businesses.
Breaking the great wall of non-presence is the biggest challenge one faces while trying to set up an online business. When you set up your online shop, you don't know them and they don't know you. You need to make your presence felt; you need to set up an identity for yourself that tells your visitors that you are not an unemployed weirdo trying to dupe visitors from your dark and unheated basement. Your website should seem to represent a genuine business that can really deliver. How can you do that?
==> HAVE A WELL-MADE WEBSITE <== A good website is quintessential to your online presence. It is your online office; people come there and draw an impression. Even the first glance can make or break a great business transaction. Your website should be neat and clean. It should be accessible to people of all abilities and it should have a well-structured navigation system. There should be no broken links and all the essential pages should be there.
==>> CONTENT IS, OF COURSE, KING <<== If having a decent website is important, then so is having the right kind of content on your pages. As mentioned above, your website represents you amidst the din of the World Wide Web. Since you are not there to directly talk to your visitors, your website accomplishes that task. Make your content -- whether graphic or textual -- as convincing as you can. Utmost care should be given to the language and the tone to make sure your visitors get all the right information they need to take their visit to the next level.
==>> KEEP PERSISTENT CONTACT <<== Establishing an identity takes time, and this is not just unique to the internet. Companies invest millions of dollars on establishing their brands. On the Internet, you need to establish your identity, you need your name to sound familiar, and you need to be there almost all the time. You should be accessible to your present and future customers and clients; you should always be in a constant conversation. A good way to carry out a regular conversation is publishing a regular newsletter (ezine) or blog where you post regular updates about your business. Finally, although there are numerous "killer" methods being sold as the ubiquitous reports that claim to make you millions, there is no substitute for a thing called good old hard work. As in any form of business, hard work is need to build trust, to initiate a two-way communication, to render a countenance to your online presence your customers can relate to, and to deliver goods and services that set you on a path of long-term profitability.

Simplifying The Niche Market Mystery

Simplifying the Niche Market Mystery by Jane Flowers
If you have been around the internet for a while, this may be startling. The results of a recent poll I carried out, indicate that boat-loads of people neither understand the words niche market, nor have the vaguest concept of how to make a niche website.
To many of them, the words "Niche Market", is a phrase dropped by professional party-going net-workers. Internet - speak is sometimes confusing. Much like those ghastly adverts for jobs in our modern-day environment, it very often means nothing at all. Copywriting has intruded into the job-market, and of course, onto the internet and flooded the world with high-flying jargon.
The problem with copywriters is that they can understand phrases like "Niche market" and "persons applying for this key position must be able to facilitate an environment conducive to productivity". Very few normal people have the vaguest idea what they are on about.
And there are millions of normal people trying to make the internet work for them. Knowing that "niche market" is a little understood term, internet marketers offer courses, reports, software, articles and conferences about the subject. They are marketing to a huge and hungry audience, who are perplexed and afraid of all the terminology.
The perplexity can be put aside, because it really is quite simple. Here is a simple definition of a niche website. It is a website that is aimed at a specific interest. For example, a website about golf, is really nothing more than a website targeted to the niche market, golf (Those people interested in golf)
To make certain you understand that, let me assist your with some more examples. A website with a niche market in militaria will target an audience interested in wars and ribbons, medals and weapons. A website about writing is a place people interested in writing will visit.
You will read and hear about how niche market websites need to be content rich. This really puts off new-comers. Do a search on the web and the keyword "content" takes you to free traffic counters, free buttons, plug ins and animations. This is not really relevant. By content rich, what is really needed is not often explained.
Here it is, the great definition every newbie has been waiting for with bated breath...Content is the words on the website, related to the niche market. Simplify it again and you have this. A website about golf, is full of things that interest people who play golf. The things they want to see are articles about golf.
Very often you will see articles and e-courses stressing that you need to identify your niche market and focus on that niche market.Well, really, only a lunatic would build a website about golf and write all over it about cake-baking and crochet. It really is obvious and simple. Content in a niche market website must be about the niche market.
The next thing that confuses the new-comer is that awe-inspiring problem of back links that are SO search engine friendly. Back links are nothing more than links to your own niche market website. You get these by having your website address on other websites. The best way to get these is to write articles about your niche market and have a link to your website in the author profile section. There are thousands of websites that let you sign up for free and submit your articles. These websites also allow you to download articles by other people which you can use on your website. That does away with the content problem for your own website.
Presuming you are more than just a golf fanatic, and did not make your niche market website just for the fun of it, you will want to generate some money from it. HOW?
Left, right, centre, you are being bashed for being a loser. You are being told that only 95% of people ever make anything on the internet. You are a newbie and before you even start you have got the message : LOSER! This is too hard for you!
Well, it is not too hard for you. If you are a newbie, it will be easier for you to make your website in a page-builder that is hosted by your website provider. In the page builder you can insert your text content, your links and your Google AdWords.
This is where the scary word AdSense comes in to spoil your day. Many of the people polled said that the word AdSense was just plain frightening and confusing. They felt that everyone banging on about the secrets of AdSense meant there must be something terribly difficult about it all.
To be honest, even the Google FAQ pages about AdSense read in a complicated way.You should not be amazed by this. Google employs copywriters too! The best way to get around AdSense is to sign up for free at Google. Grab the AdSense code for the advert type you want to display and shove it into the html editor on your page builder. It will not show up until you publish your page. Google has some magical way of determining what the content is on your website and will show relevant ads.
You really don't need to know how they do it...not at this stage, when you are a beginner. It just happens, the same way lots of things happen, like faxes and broadband. Accept it with grace and be ye not troubled by the HOWS. You get money from Google when visitors to your website click on the AdSense ads.
So - here you have it. You have a niche market website about golf. You have written your own content or borrowed it from free article sites. The text is about golf. Google AdSense will very kindly display adverts for golf products on your site. What is missing? SOMETHING TO SELL.
"Oh my gosh! What do I sell? Do I need to rush out start knitting golf scarves and beanies?" Do I need to quickly learn how to build golf carts? Even if I can do these things, do I have the skills and know-how to set up a shopping cart and accept credit cards and go into the deep dark recesses of Paypal to receive payment?"
The short and simple answer, is : NO. Just sign up and become a member of Clickbank.
They will give you an id. Your id will link to any one of the thousands of products you can sell and you will get the commission. There are three pages of golf products on Clickbank alone.
Choose the one you like the most that fits with your content, add an image from the product page and link it to your clickbank affiliate link for the product which you get from Clickbank. If you have a problem with images, just link it to some text about the product. You do not need to have a checkout , a product you personally make nor any html knowledge other than copying and pasting.
List your new Niche Market", you can tell them that internet cyber-speak is a niche market that is old hat and already over-subscribed.

6 Butterfly Marketing Tips About Marketing Your Own Product on the Internet

6 Butterfly Marketing Tips about Marketing Your Own Product on the Internet by Ryan Parker
In this article I will try help the newbie Internet Marketer by revealing 6 important tips to making a successful product and selling it successfully on the internet.
1. Find your Niche You can't write a general product about things generally. It might seem obvious but most people go into making a product before actually doing some research on the market that they want to enter. You need to know if the product will sell and that involves looking at what your potential customer needs, how he feels and where he is hurting. This brings us to the next part;
2. Find out what your customer's main problems are The trick is that people with problems are almost always too eager to find a solution fast. This makes the best spontaneous buyer that would almost be too happy to depart with his/her money if you provide just a promise that you will solve the problem for them with your product, of coz you must deliver what your promise!
3. Get experts to work for you There is a huge market of programmers or designers on the internet that are more than happy to help you in the development of your product. You can use a site like Rentacoder, Guru, or Elance to find a talented programmer. Additionally, you can search forums for programmers. In many cases, you can get a high-quality program that fits your specifications for as little as $100.
4. Marketing your product There are an enormous number of ways in which you can market your product both online and offline, however in this article I'll just look at marketing online since it is one of the cheapest ways and since your product is Internet based and will compliment the delivery of the product too. Generally, having your own website will be the best option. Make your website easy to understand with a good sales letter, offer good percentage cuts for your affiliates to market your product for you through Clickbank or Commission Junction.
5. Create "Bonuses", viral in nature. Most Internet based products should have some bonuses that come with the product when the client purchases it. There are two purposes to these bonuses, firstly it's to make the buyer happy that he got a bargain with so many extras with the product. Secondly, these bonuses are very good viral marketing tools too. You can either release the publication for open distribution with many links back to your website or you can also get the buyer to re-sale your product in the Multi-Level-Marketing manner.
6. Brand and market yourself Some people like staying anonymous on the internet but to really succeed in selling your product, you must also sell yourself to be the expert in the product's field. It may seem better to just make a persona to market certain products but to be blatantly straight, personas never come across as genuine and thus will have a negative impact on the product your are selling.
So, now armed with these tips, go out and make an effort to develop and sell your product, the internet is ripe for the picking!
