The main risks are obvious: Your adspend exceeds your income! An important tip is to test your campaigns with only 100 clicks or the cost of one sale profits. You've probably heard that the "Money is in the list" - which is true, or more correctly, we should say that "the money is in a good relationship with the list subscribers!", but that's another subject! The main tip I could give you here is to stay away form competitive terms and go for less searched on terms that you stand a better chance of being ranked for. SEO is based on "On-page" and "Off-page" factors. On-page refers to the correct optimization of the code, keyword density, etc. etc. ON the page. Off-page refers to the number, format and authority of sites that link back to your site. As a generalization, Google places more weight on Off-page factors, so building the number and quality of incoming links is the way to go.

Article marketing can get you traffic to your affiliate site for free. But like other strategies there are ways to do it and ways not to do it! It's important that when you write articles, they contain the appropriate number of uses of the keyword phrase you are targeting. The most important tip here is similar to SEO above. Focus on the more obscure keyword phrases, rather than something common and highly competitive! For instance writing an article targeted to the keyword phrase "weight loss" would be a waste of time. So do some keyword research and find a much less competitive and longer keyword phrase to include in your article.
