The internet has been described as the new wild west, since its
Inception entrepreneurs have been trying to use it to make money
quickly. It has brought together huge numbers of potential
consumers and marketers in a very short time. Suppliers of goods and services,
with an enticing, well crafted sales letter and an email address can
remain anonymous. This has made the internet the ideal vehicle
for abuse.

Many entrepreneurs looking to develop an honest online business
Have been burnt by sales letters promising quick riches if only they
Buy the latest business program. I must confess I have been
one of those burnt on a number of occasions by promises of quick
riches. Those sales letters are, oh so seductive, promising quick
riches if only you buy the program and follow the instructions in
the e-books or videos.

Well my friends and fellow entrepreneurs the results are in,
It is becoming common knowledge that approximately 90 percent
of all internet businesses never make a profit even businesses
founded on those high priced programs sold through those well
crafted and enticing sales letters. The end result being that
potential business owners who have been burnt once too often are
turning away in droves from the hype and promises of quick riches
to find a more lasting foundation on which to build their business.

The month of October, 2006 was the turning point, many
subscribers saw 3 to 4 emails each day advertising the launches
of new Internet Marketing products. The result was that many of
the gurus saw a record number of their list members unsubscribe.
Apparently what happened is there are so many people marketing

Profits dropped dramatically from previous launches. The feeling of
being jaded and overwhelmed has been growing for awhile. Prior to
October, subscribers have been receiving emails daily touting one
program or another, they bought into one program after another
without the proper investment of the time and effort into anyone.

Even if I can do these things, do I have the skills and know-how to set up a shopping cart and accept credit cards and go into the deep dark recesses of Paypal to receive payment?"

They will give you an id. Your id will link to any one of the thousands of products you can sell and you will get the commission. There are three pages of golf products on Clickbank alone.

It's not only internet forums that carry sad tales of endless hours spent trying to 'break in'. You'll often see stories like this in testimonials for a system that has finally worked: relieved buyers tell of their rocky journey before finding the solution that did it for them.
Hang around any internet forum for a while, and you're sure to read a post from some exhausted, disillusioned 'apprentice' internet marketer who is ready to give up.
If you're one of those who are dealing with a fed-up spouse who is urging you to find a 'real job', or credit cards that have reached the red zone after huge sums spent on the next sure thing, you may well be getting close to burnout.
What do you do? Keep trying - or give up? And if you do keep trying, how can you know what will work best for you? What is the best use of the hours you have available to you, without your health suffering?
Here are a few tips to help you find your way through the maze.
1. Work on the Tasks That You Find Easiest - Outsource the Rest.
There are many ways to make money on the Internet, but most of them require you to know how to work with two things: words and websites. When you're a beginner, focus on working with your strengths. For example, if you are a confident writer but a dud with the technical stuff, spend your time and money wisely. Use sites like Elance.com or Workaholics4Hire.com to find someone to do the things you find difficult. (You could spend a whole day trying to master something an expert could do in twenty minutes.) What is the very first thing you need to do? What is the second? What is the third? Write them all down.
Decide on which tasks you will handle yourself, and which tasks you will hand over to others. Arrange these tasks in two separate lists. (If you have no money to outsource anything yet, then you'll still have one big list.)
If you are outsourcing certain tasks, find the professional who will be handling them and get things underway before you begin on your own list. This will give you a mental boost, because things are already happening! (Note that some outsourced tasks may have to wait until you have completed a step on your own list.)
Look back at your past experiences with approaching projects or new tasks, and decide which of the two following work patterns sounds most like you:
- you work best with a 'to do' list that challenges you, ticking off each task as it is completed.
- you become overwhelmed if you have too much on your list; you work best if you have just one task in front of you at a time.
Far too many new internet marketers panic at the sight of a seemingly interminable list of tasks. At the end of a day, if they've checked only three boxes out of twenty-seven, they panic. It all seems too much - and paralysis can set in. That, in turn, leads to disillusionment and another failed business.
If you know that this will be your reaction, then put your list away. Instead, write out the very first task on a piece of paper, and put THAT in front of you. That's all you have to accomplish - that one task.
Be careful that you don't look upon a whole complex project 'one task'. For example: don't write down 'build a website' as Item 1 on your To-Do List! Break large tasks down into smaller jobs, and focus on that. If your first task in building a website is to download the necessary software and install it on your computer, write that down as one thing on your to-do list.
Work your way through one task at a time, and give yourself credit for what you have accomplished. One final tip: pretend that you are hiring yourself, and treat yourself kindly - like a new employee that has to learn the ropes. As a boss, you wouldn't unfairly overload a 'newbie' starting out in the business - so don't do it to yourself!

It is a well established fact that reselling to your existing customers is the best way to maximize your profits. In this article, I shall elaborate on the finer points of this technique.
Most businesses are out to generate new leads. Their primary aim is to attract as many customers to their business as possible. As a result, all of their advertising and promotion efforts are modeled to generate a greater number of prospects. This, however, is a cardinal mistake that can spell doom for any particular business.
If the last sentence seems a bit too exaggerated, it is time for you to wake up and smell the coffee. I have personally seen the gradual decline in sales figures for many businesses trying to create new business.
The first impression is the last impression:
Let's look at the importance of the existing customer base from another perspective. Usually, the first purchase made by a customer is actually a test made by the buyer to evaluate your ability to deliver. And it doesn't represent the total capacity of a customer to do business with you.
If you are able to deliver as per your promise and in accordance with the customer's requirements, it is a sure-fire indication that the customer may return. The customer has faith in your product or service and there is no reason why you should not use this to you and your customer's mutual advantage.
Now, I state below a tried and tested method of dividing your marketing efforts for you to understand and implement. If you follow the this, you can rest assured that this course will be worth tens, even hundreds of times what you have paid for it.
1. Devote 60% of all your marketing efforts towards reselling to your current customers.
2. Spend 25% of your marketing efforts in converting dormant customers to active buyers.
3. 15% of your marketing should be devoted to gaining new prospects.
However, it is important to keep in mind that the above proportions may vary depending on the stage of development of your business. If you are just setting up your business, almost all your marketing energies will go towards developing new clients. These figures will continue to fluctuate for about two years, beyond that, your most lucrative profit center will be your current customer base!
If you actively persue follow up sales to your current customers, instead of treating them as one shot single sales, you will soon discover that your customers have a life time value (LTV) far exceeding the single sale. The life time value of a customer is defined as "the total value of your average customer over the entire period that they're likely to do business with you."
For example let's say that your first sale to a customer is generally $50. If you treat every customer as a single sale and do not make any follow up offers to that customer, then that will most likely be the lifetime value of your customers.
Now let's assume that you understand the lifetime value of a customer, so you continue to follow up with you current active customers and make them additional offers of increasing value and that your customers are on average active for a period of three years. Over that period of time your average customer buys $1,500 worth of products from you. Now the lifetime value of your customer is $1,500 instead of $50. Knowing this figure will allow you to much more accurately judge what you should be willing to pay to acquire a new customer.
There is one additional term associated with customer value that you should also be family with and that is Total Customer Value (TCV). You can think of total customer value as the lifetime value of a customer plus the value of the number of new customers they refer to you. Thinking of customer value this way will encourage you to develop some sort of referral system to encourage customers to refer their friends, family, or business colleagues to you. Realizing what the LTV of your customers is will help you determine how much you should be willing to spend to acquire referrals from your customers realizing that referral leads are your best leads with the highest level of conversion to active customers.
Treat your customers right, follow up with additional back-end product offers and establish a referral system and watch your business growth accelerate at lightening speed.

Over the last two months there has been a great buzz about making money from Google adsense and other pay per click programs. The buzz to some extent has been justified, it seems every day over the last two months someone was launching their new adsense course. These courses ranged anywhere from $100.00 to $2000.00. What added to the buzz are the reports of high school kids, house wives and the average joe setting up a site around their hobbies adding some adsense ads to it and started raking in the money.

My experience has been a bit different, when Google first came out with their adsense program a couple years ago I too thought it was a great idea to set up a site and put money making ads on it. To make a long story short it didn’t work. I learned that there was much more involved if I wanted to make big money with Google adsense.

First there was the issue of choosing the right niche to build a content site around that would generate enough traffic to produce money from the ads. If you are going to build content sites to monetize with Google adsense you must have the tools to research which niches will be profitable.

Then there is the issue of choosing a niche which is so broad that it is everything to everyone and not specific enough to be of benefit to anyone. An example of this is the topic of, travel. This is a very broad subject and has lots of potential, if you do an overture search on the word travel you will see last month keyword searches were in the millions. But what aspect of travel is your audience interested in. You can find that out by looking down the list and see that there are people interested in learning more about travel to various countries, such as China, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Sweden. Travel to these specific countries on their own produce over a million searches in some cases. Now you can concentrate on a specific country and build your site around travel to and in that country. You can start by breaking down the travel industry in one country in the categories of accommodations, modes of transportation in that country, customs of that country, sight seeing tours in that country and such sub categories. Use the overture search tool to see what specific information the traveler is looking for. Enter the name of the country see which keyword results you can turn into a sub category for your website.

Once you think you have exhausted the sub categories for a country move on to the next country and do the same. Now what you have is a series of websites which are related and you can now link them all together, this will improve your ranking in the search engines thereby producing more clicks on your adsense ads. Google will love you.

There is more to developing adsense niche sites than just slapping them together, you must consider the issue of getting traffic to your sites, where to put the ads on your site so that they produce the most clicks. The Google Adsense program is like winning the lottery. It has made it possible for the average person to earn thousands of dollars each month thereby replacing their 9 – 5 job.

The great thing about the different brands is that the companies Canon, Hewlett Packard and Lexmark each have specifications and reviews of their printers on their websites, making it easy to get content. This is one of the mega earners strategies.

2) The mega earners stick to the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Son. They shy away from mixing adsense sites with sites that sell products. By separating adsense sites and sales sites gives a better opportunity to optimize your site for Google adsense. Products for sale and your adsense ads do not compete. Your adsense sites are to inform not to sell. Google will match the content of your site with available adsense ads. The mega earner knows that if you are informed by his/her content site and the adsense ads are properly matched they will earn money by you clicking on that adsense ad. They also know that if they mix products for sale and adsense ads and you click on a product for sale but don’t purchase it he/she makes no money. So by keeping it simple they make money from each click.

3) The mega earners treat their adsense sites as a business, they invest in it in the form of tools to automate the various processes and they invest their time. Time to find new tools and more efficient ways of building websites. Like any business they put systems in place which make the business grow and flow more smoothly. One thing that allows your adsense business to grow is, knowing what accounts for your success or failure, this means having to track your results. By knowing what accounts for your success you can do more of what works and removing what doesn’t work. Mega earners build on their successes and get rid of their failures.

In real estate the mantra is location, location, location, with Google adsense its tools, tools, tools. Tools to automate getting traffic to your websites, tools to track where your visitors are coming from, tools to see which keywords are producing the most clicks, tools for keeping track of your earnings. The mega earners are no smarter, they don’t work any harder than some who are making just pennies a month from their adsense websites, they have tools that work and they use them. 5) As I am writing this report there is a baseball game on the radio and it reminds me baseball and Google Adsense are similar in some ways. If a batter tries to hit each ball for a home run he will strike out more often than not; however if he tries to put his pitch in play he is more likely to hit a single, a double, a triple or even a home run. If you try building sites with $100.00 keywords you are likely to build only a few sites this reduces your chances for success; however if you do your research and look for mid range keywords and develop sites around those keywords your success will be greater. Mid range keywords are more plentiful therefore the greater chance for success than sites built with high priced keywords. The mega earners know this and build mid range keyword sites.
6) Make your sites easy to understand and navigate. Putting lots of graphics on your site will drive your visitor to distraction and you to fewer clicks on your adsense ads. Remember the name of the game is to get your visitor to click on your adsense ads not to distract them. The mega earners know this and do what works.
7) The last point the mega earners repeat what works, they find the system which works for getting the most clicks and they repeat that system over and over. They treat it like the business it is. They know that building one successful site is good, but repeating the method over and over is true success.

Do not be mistaken though... these people are not building like your Mom and Pop's do. They have systems in place that create sites for them... people who build sites for them... they have outsourced and automated many of the tedious tasks such as posting to blogs and searching for keywords. While most people cannot emulate everything these Super AdSense earners do... many of them you can.Here are 7 Required Steps you can implement today to copy their success. 1) Starting today... treat your AdSense business like it is a REAL business and track what you do.Begin tracking what you are doing that works... as well as what you are doing that does not work. Meanwhile the clock is ticking and their startup funds are being spent with little to show in return.

Basically this is a program which you can promote and get paid as soon as a sale is made.

This is your business but the creator of the program retains the copyright.

The interest rates on these types of loans can be higher than what you would pay at the regular bank. Do not get carried away by the possible quick returns of your SFP business.

How to Profit From Your List

In my last article: The Money is in the List, or is it? I address

Profiting from your list is the main reason why we create a list in the
first place so lets get started. Get your subscribers use to the idea that
you will be sending offers of paid and free stuff. Some of us marketers
shy away from the idea of selling, even if it is at a distance such as internet marketing. My position on that is, get over it. If you don’t sell
you’re not going to be in business very long. That’s not to say that every email you send your subscribers is to make a sale, remember you’re there to help the members of your list.

Another caution is that the first offer you send to your list you will
probably find that you get a large number of unsubscribe, believe me some of the biggest internet marketers had the same experience. I’ve had the same experience, not that I am a guru, but I’ve had my share of failure and you will too.

Make Your Emails Viral:
How? Whenever possible send your list rebrandable videos or e-books. If you’re just starting out, look for programs that provide rebrandable promotional tools.

Why rebrandable programs? Because whenever that video or e-book gets passed around your link will be on that video or in that e-book.
You could be benefiting from that circulation for months and months without lifting a finger.

Look for programs with up sells and which provide commissions on those sales. The above mentioned program meets the criteria, with such a program you get paid twice for doing the work once.

Build Your List:
One mistake I made when starting out with affiliate programs was to send customers directly to the sales page of the merchant. You can build your list by constructing an opt-in page which collects email addresses and names of your hard earned visitors. Then you send them onto the sales page. This way even if they don’t buy you can send them follow up emails for that and other products, this also builds your list.

Caution on the opt-in page don’t try to sell them, just pre-sell them.
To do this, just remind them of your experience with the program and let the sales letter do the selling. This implies you having the product you’re selling which is always a good idea.

BLOGS:
Blogs are another way to profit from your list. Blogs are easy to develop and you can expand on your experience on using the
product you are promoting. In addition some free blog hosting companies now allow you to easily add Google Adsense to your blog.
Promote your blog to your list and ask them for feed back on the subject of the product. Because they already have an interest in the subject it should be easy to get them to the blog.

The Money is in The List, OR IS IT?

If you have ever thought of starting an internet business you've heard,
the money is in the list, the money is in the list, the money is in
the list. You've heard it so often, like me you've probably gotten sick
of it.

After trying without success affiliate programs, gifting programs,
MLM programs and too many others to list here, I decided to get a
list. So I signed up for one of those co-registration services which
provide you with 100,000 email names for $350.00. I figured this was
the fastest way to become a list owner and make big bucks from my list.

I tried to bribe them with free e-books, free marketing advice, free
software yet nothing. To be honest I had so many unsubscribe that I
figured if I had that many sales I would've been a millionaire in four
weeks.

Since then I've learned that not just any list will work. I further
learned that for a list to be successful it must have the three
following qualities to it:

Targeted: The subscribers must have a common interest. They could be
internet marketers, model train hobbyists, bird watchers, dog
owners, not just any dog, but a specific dog, example Boxer owners,
Collie owners or German Sheppard owners. They have to be one
specific dog owner, because you will be speaking directly to
the needs of that specific dog which is different from another
breed of dog. The point is the more targeted your list the
greater your chances are at success with your list. A word
of caution, make sure your targeted group is big enough to be
able to produce a sizeable list. Anywhere from 1000 to 2000
subscribers should get you started making decent money.

To see if it is feasible to produce such a list use the
Overture Search Tool to do a search on your topic to see how
many searches were done the previous month on your topic.
Anywhere from 30,000 to 90,000 searches is a good indication
that the market is large enough to support a list of 1000 to
2000 subscribers. Fewer than 30,000 may indicate insufficient
demand to monetize your correspondence with that market;
however I have heard of smaller markets producing fantastic
results. Over 90,000 maybe getting too general for it to be
considered, targeted.

Qualified: Your subscribers must be qualified, by that I mean they must
have money to spend, and show a willingness to spend it. You
can test this by checking online for magazines published
specifically for that market. Example, birders have their magazine,
check in the back of that magazine and you will see ads aimed
squarely at birders. You will see these ads are repeated month
after month, which indicates that people are spending money on
those ads.

What also qualifies them is that they must be fanatical about
their activity. Golfers- enough said. Well not really, I don't
mean to pick on golfers but who else would spend $350.00 on a
new piece of equipment and then throw it in the water hazard
or break it over their knee if the results aren't what they
expected. Sorry golfers, but you do make yourselves such an
easy target. As a reformed golfer I think I have earned the
right to recoup a few moments of levity, after all the
frustration I felt in high school searching for a golf ball
with a mind of its own.

The point being made is that, your targeted market must be
qualified and two of the many things that qualify them are:
(1) money to spend
(2) being fanatical about their activity.

RESPONSIVE: Your list must do what you ask or tell them to do. No- not
all of them- but a sufficient number to make your marketing
efforts financially worth while. What causes them to respond
is that they can see that what you are offering them will make
their lives better, solve a problem they have or trust you
enough to know that they will gain financially or in some other
way from what you recommend. This trust is built up over time
and comes about from gains they've experienced from your
previous recommendations. This last point gets into the area of
relationship marketing, a subject I will speak to in the
future.

I finally learned that to get the money out of the list it must possess
the qualities of being: targeted, qualified and responsive.
